Eagles get much-needed win

October 18, 2024

The Eagles got a much-needed win last Sunday. It was a good game between two average teams. I was pretty confident the Eagles were going to win the game all along. The Cleveland Browns’ offensive line was not very good, and the Eagles were able to get constant pressure on quarterback Deshaun Watson the whole game. It was definitely nice to have AJ Brown and Devonta Smith back, because it made the offense look normal again.

This week's game is against the New York Giants on the road, so it is very important for the team to start a winning streak if they want to have a chance to catch up to the Washington Commanders at the top of the division. This will definitely be an important game for running back Saquon Barkley, who will be playing against his former team for the first time. This year‘s NFC East is going to be mediocre, so I think after Washington, it’s going be a fight for second place to see who can secure a wild card playoff position.

The NBA season starts next week. The Eastern Conference is going to be a battle between the I-95 teams – the defending champion Boston Celtics, the New York Knicks, and the Philadelphia 76ers. I will be happy when opening night comes around because we will finally get to see Joel Embiid, Paul George and Tyrese Maxey play together for the first time. If they can stay healthy and play up to 70 games together, this should be a fun regular season to watch. I’m not worried about the Western Conference yet because the East is going to be super competitive by itself.

By the end of this weekend, the World Series teams could be determined. Unfortunately, I think the Yankees are a clear favorite to win the American League over the Cleveland Guardians. I am rooting for the Guardians to win the World Series for the first time since 1954, but I don’t think that is going to be the case. The National League series should be closer between the New York Mets and the Los Angeles Dodgers. As a diehard Philly fan, I just can’t bring myself to root for the Mets to make it to the World Series!

Everyone enjoying watching the baseball over the weekend!
