April 2, 2025

Frank E. Dillon, 78, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, passed away peacefully, gently holding his wife's hand and surrounded by the warmth and love of his family, Monday, March 24, 2025. Born Oct. 7, 1946, in Wilmington, to the late Mildred Dougherty Dillon and Francis Edward Dillon, Frank was a spirited soul whose warmth and kindness touched everyone he met.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from January 1966 to January 1968. He subsequently embarked on a fulfilling career of 47-plus years at ChristianaCare, retiring as a senior systems engineer. Post retirement, he immersed himself in his passions for cooking and sharing meals, and was always willing to offer his home improvement skills to family and friends. Frank will be dearly missed by his coffee club and happy hour friends for the laughter and companionship they mutually shared.

Frank's academic achievements began as a graduate of Salesianum High School in 1964, followed by earning his bachelor’s in business administration from Wilmington University in June 1978. His commitment to lifelong learning mirrored his commitment to his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Monaco; his daughters, Adriane Dillon Gallagher (Tabitha Golt) and Terra Dillon; his son, Matthew Dillon; and his adored grandchildren. Frank's legacy is one of unyielding love, service, and friendship, a beacon of joy to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His memory will be deeply treasured by all the lives he touched.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 15, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Hwy., Lewes, where family and friends may begin visiting at 10 a.m. Burial will be held privately.
