A Georgetown woman faces her seventh driving under the influence charge April 15 following a traffic stop near Georgetown.

A trooper on patrol at 3:18 a.m. saw a Chevrolet Cruze traveling eastbound on Wilson Hill Road near Downs Road with an improperly displayed license plate and pulled the car over, police said. When the trooper spoke to the driver, identified as Ginger Velasquez, police said, the trooper could smell alcohol on her breath. The trooper administered standardized field sobriety tests, and Velasquez was arrested for driving under the influence.

A computer check showed that Velasquez had six prior DUI-related convictions. She was taken to Troop 4 where she was charged with 7th-offense DUI and display of license plate. She was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 and released on a $7,001 unsecured bond.
