Having a little birthday fun on Scrub Island with the Gazette

Dale Franklin of Edgewater Estates in Lewes spent his birthday on Scrub Island in the British Virgin Islands. It is a beautiful island to hike, read the Gazette, rest, relax, and snorkel. Dale’s favorite snorkel spot is just a 10-minute kayak adventure away from Diamond Reef, which is located off Great Camanoe. There’s a small story that locals believe is the one that gave this diving spot its name. Legend says that many years ago, two newlyweds supposedly had a huge fight, and she threw her ring in the water. Mostly, Diamond Reef is known for its flourishing fish species and colorful reefs. Just beautiful!
