I am starting to believe it could happen

The Philadelphia Eagles have rolled over all but one of the opponents they have faced this season. This past week's game against the Denver Broncos was definitely their best effort yet!

I got to watch the first half while having lunch with my dad at Arena's because Comcast, once again, did not have the game on locally on the regular cable sports package. Not happy, but it was a good lunch! Even though we only stayed for the first half, that turned out to be just fine because for all intents and purposes the game was a sealed deal by halftime with a wonderfully lopsided score of 31 to 3. The eagles offense was able to go up and down the field on the Bronco defense and the Broncos offense was virtually non existent.

This coming week, the Eagles are off and then they play Dallas in Dallas. If they can beat the Cowboys in this first game, they will have a real stranglehold on the Division championship.

In very sad baseball news this week, 40 year old Roy Halladay died in a plane crash. Even though he spent most of his career as a Toronto Blue Jay, he was one of my favorite players to watch. His legendary work ethic and effectiveness as a Phillie was something I will always remember and share with whomever wants to hear me talk about it. In his four years with the Phillies, he threw a perfect game and a no hitter in the playoffs. He will probably be voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame for his 203 Major League wins.

I want to end this weeks "Thoughts" on a positive note and wish all the local high school sports teams good luck in their fall playoffs. The Cape field hockey, soccer and cross-country teams will be especially fun to follow.
