Italian-American Heritage Club awards scholarships
The Italian-American Heritage Club of Sussex County Delaware awarded $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors of Italian descent this year. Part of the club’s mission is providing scholarships to graduating seniors and supporting local charities.
Tyler James Belson and Anna Maria Fantoli were the club’s first scholarship recipients.
In high school, Belson was a member of the National Honor Society and Game Club. Belson will be attending the University of Wilmington. He will major in game design and hopes to create games that teach and have a positive influence on the players.
Fantoli was also a National Honor Society member. She received an award for outstanding performance in plant and horticultural science, and participated in agricultural sales competition and specialty crop production with Future Farmers of America. Fantoli will be attending the University of Vermont, where she intends to let her passion guide her to making a difference and being influential in the field of forestry and environmental science.
