Johnson Orthodontics awards scholarships to local grads

Dr. Jonathan Johnson recently presented two $500 college scholarships from Johnson Orthodontics to Alexi Nowakowski of Cape Henlopen High School and Gracie Maughan of Sussex Academy.

The Extraordinary Smiles Scholarship was established in 2018 to recognize outstanding students in the Cape Region and help them offset the cost of higher education.

As in previous years, both of this year’s recipients have consistently achieved excellent grades while still finding time to participate in extracurricular activities and work part-time jobs.

Both received high praise from their teachers for their discipline, integrity, compassion and determination. Lexi will be attending Vanderbilt University in the fall to study economics. Gracie will be attending the University of Rhode Island, where she will major in physical therapy.

The entire team at Johnson Orthodontics is extremely proud of both Lexi and Gracie, and wishes them much success and many, many smiles.
