Kingstowne Flex Park near Harbeson gets extension
The Sussex County Planning & Zoning Commission granted the Kingstowne Flex Park a six-month extension during its March 19 meeting.
The developer had requested a one-year extension, but the maximum allowed by the county is six months.
The park is located on a 7-acre parcel at the intersection of Prettyman Road and Route 9 in Harbeson.
The original conditional-use application for the business park for contractors and flexible space will expire May 10. Conditional-use projects have a three-year deadline to get substantially underway. The new date is now Nov. 10.
The plan includes 11 units totaling 19,800 square feet and 15 units totaling 27,000 square feet, and 89 parking spaces. Offices, retail and food sales are permitted. A 20-foot vegetated buffer is required around the perimeter of the property.
The developer will pay $15,900 into a Delaware Department of Transportation area-wide study fee.
