Laura Frances Murray, loved cats

Laura Frances (Short) Murray was born Sept. 26, 1936, in Milford, to Felix M. Short and Delema (Stayton) Short.

She graduated from Lewes High School in 1955 and married Bayley "Bud" Y. Murray in 1957. Her husband was in the Army so they lived in several states and Germany. While in Germany, they visited several European countries. Laura's greatest love was for her many cats. She enjoyed reading, doing plastic needlepoint, and walking, cleaning her section of Adopt-a-Highway. She was a member of Best Friends Animal Society of Utah.

She is survived by her son, Bayley A. "Tony" and Estelle Murray of Milton; her sister, Charlotte Hart of Lewes; her grandchildren, Roxanne Murray of Milford, and Thomas and Amanda "Nicki" Murray of Magnolia; her great-grandchildren, Makenna Greer, and Bayley N. and Cameron Murray, and her great-great-grandchildren, Naomi and Natalia Greer. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service at 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 18, at Conley's Chapel Cemetery, 22150 Robinsonville Road, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, make donations to Brandywine Valley SPCA, bvspca.org/donate; or the Humane Society.
