Now that it's down to 16 teams, 95 percent of them have a good chance to win the whole thing.
I am sticking with the name brand teams to ultimately go to the Final 4. Kansas, Kentucky, and UCLA are among my favorites. If Gonzaga University was to win the whole thing, I am curious as to what the media's take would be. This team was a Cinderella team just 5 years ago and now they are the number one seed. This is when it really gets good!
I like to watch Phillies Spring Training games when there's only one week left before opening day. I hope the Phillies decide to keep their first base prospect, Brock Stassi, on the major-league roster to start the season, since he is hitting over 300 this spring.
Although Tommy Joseph is already in the starting position and is a talented first baseman, I think they should consider splitting his playing time with Stassi. We need to start bringing up some of the Phillies position player prospects to give the fans a glimpse of the possibilities of having a decent season.
These players are the future of the team and since there's little hope for a stellar season once again, why not let these guys be starters? They can always send them back to Triple A.
I am so tired of the media dwelling on just one topic this week. There's been a lot of controversy over the recent trend of star NBA players being given the option to not play in games just because they need a rest before the playoffs begin. The only reasonable solution to this would be to decrease the amount of games to about 75. But then the players would complain that they should be paid the same amount, which would make things even more controversial. There's plenty of time to work on this issue and move on to more interesting topics.
For now, let's all hope we are the winners of our pools for March Madness!
