The Delaware River and Bay Lighthouse Foundation has two sunset cruises scheduled for summer 2025. Early reservations are recommended for the events at 7 p.m., Saturday, June 7, and 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 6.
Boats cruise from Anglers Fishing Center in Lewes along the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal, across Roosevelt Inlet, and into the Harbor of Refuge to see the Delaware Breakwater East End Light and Harbor of Refuge Lighthouse. On these sunset cruises, participants do not enter the lighthouses, but the boat floats alongside each one for some great views and photos. Passengers have been known to see dolphins, and though their appearances can’t be guaranteed, seeing a lighthouse at sunset will be a highlight of the summer.
This relaxing and fun event is BYOB and snacks. Bringing a light jacket is recommended, as temperatures may be cooler on the water. Tickets are $40 per guest. Money raised from the cruises funds ongoing maintenance of the lighthouses.
