Milford teen charged with murder

A Milford teen was charged with first-degree murder Sept. 22, in connection with the death of a 50-year-old woman in her Lakeview Avenue home.

Police on patrol at 12:55 p.m. found Edouard Risch Oldens having mental health issues in the area of N. Church Street and SW Front Street, police said. 

Oldens told the officers he had killed someone, police said, and officers responded to a home in the 400 block of Lakeview Avenue where they found a woman deceased.

Investigators took Oldens into custody and charged him with first-degree murder and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. Oldens was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to the Delaware Department of Corrections on $680,000 cash bail, pending a preliminary hearing in the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas at a later date.
