No more playoff talk for the Eagles

November 11, 2016

On Sunday, the Eagles lost their second straight game, first to the Cowboys and then to the Giants. The most frustrating part, AGAIN, was the fact that the Eagles could have won the game. They only lost to New York by five points even with the offense playing its worst game this season.

The luster has definitely fallen off Doug Pederson as a first-year head coach. He was too aggressive with two first half fourth-down attempts. This cost the team six points because kicker, Caleb Sturgis, has been very good this season from any distance.

The other reason I'm being so pessimistic about the Eagles’ prospects for a playoff berth is because of how well the Dallas Cowboys are playing. They are seven and one and are the biggest surprise in NFL. Thus the Eagles will have no chance to win the division and will have to play much better to have any chance for a wildcard spot. Even though Carson Wentz had his worst game so far, we have to remember he’s just a rookie.

And while I am making excuses for poor performances, I will say that I feel bad for the 76ers because they haven't won a game yet. They are 0-7 and they very easily could've won three games so far. The Sixers are a very young team and seem to be unable to close out games. Former number 3 pick, Joel Embiid, is finally playing and doing very well, but he can't win the games by himself. No one knows when 2016 number 1 draft pick, Ben Simmons, is going to play this season. Cheap tickets should be available all year.
