Oscar-nominated films to open Feb. 7 at CAT
Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater announced screenings of Oscar-nominated dramas “Sing Sing” and “I’m Still Here” will open Friday, Feb. 7.
Imprisoned at Sing Sing for a crime he didn't commit, Divine G (Colman Domingo) finds purpose by acting in a theater group alongside other incarcerated men, including a wary newcomer (Clarence Maclin). An unforgettable ensemble cast of formerly incarcerated actors brings to life this stirring true story of resilience, humanity and the transformative power of art.
“I’m Still Here” portrays a mother, Eunice Paiva (Fernanda Torres), who is forced to reinvent herself in 1971 when her family's life is shattered by an act of arbitrary violence during the tightening grip of a military dictatorship in Brazil. While maintaining her family’s stability, Eunice investigates the disappearance of her husband Rubens (Selton Mello), a former deputy in the Brazilian Labor Party.
