Gazette readers Carlos Prugue and Peter Pizzolongo traveled to Peru to celebrate Carlos' brother's 60th birthday. After several days of partying in Lima and Quilmana, they traveled to Paracas, spending a few days at a resort. While there, they took a boat trip to Islas Ballestas, 24km off the coast, to check out the islands' inlets, arches, and caves, and look for sea lions, tendrils, cormorants, pelicans, blue-footed boobies, a marine bird native to subtropical and tropical regions of the eastern Pacific Ocean, and guanay guano birds. A great time was had by all!
