Phillies should be happy to be home

May 31, 2024

This week, the Phillies lost four games on their West Coast trip through Colorado and San Francisco. This could be a good thing for the team since it shows them that they are not invincible. Time to step back up and get things back on track.

This week also brought the bad news for the Atlanta Braves. They have just suffered a big loss with another season-ending injury to Ronald Acuna Jr. We will see if the Braves can recover from this. Even with this bad news, the Braves will probably still make the playoffs with how poor the New York Mets and Miami Marlins have been this year.

The NBA playoffs are down to two teams. The Boston Celtics are the Eastern Conference representative and the Dallas Mavericks will represent the Western Conference. For the final, I will actually be rooting for Boston to win the championship. I know this may seem like a surprise because I’m a 76ers fan, but I really don’t like Kyrie Irving or the part-owner of the Mavericks, Mark Cuban, because he’s incredibly arrogant when watching the Mavericks play.

Congratulations goes out to the Cape Henlopen boys’ lacrosse team for making the state finals again this year. Of course, it will be against their perennial rivals, the boys from Sallies. I’ve been pretty surprised at how easily Cape won three straight playoff games by double-digit scores to make it to the finals this year. In order to have a legitimate chance to beat the three-time defending champions on Saturday, the Cape team is going to have to play a virtually perfect game on both sides of ball. The defense is going to have to be a lot more aggressive than they were in the regular-season game and the offense is going to have to take advantage of all of their scoring opportunities! Go Cape!
