Possible redemption story brewing
Through the first round of the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin, Dustin Johnson has the lead. If he goes on to win it will be very fitting because in 2010, the last time the tournament was played at this course, he should have won the tournament. He was given a two shot penalty on the last hole for grounding his club in a supposed bunker. He would have been in the playoff for the championship without that mess.
This tournament will be fun to watch because it is supposed to be very windy for all four days. That should keep the winning scores on the high side, which will give a larger group the chance to make the cut.
The Phillies are continuing to play pretty well. They're starting pitching has been disappointing though. They're very close to being right there with the Miami Marlins for last place. Makes a Phillies fan proud! Oh well. Their goal should be to not finish the season in last place. We can only hope that this is a realistic goal. You know that the pitching has not been consistent at all when a rookie pitcher, Aaron Nola, has been the most consistent starter for the Phillies since the mid season Allstar break.
I can't believe that the NFL season is about to begin. I watch only a few of the preseason games, just to get geared up for the regular season, and to see if there's any great sleeper stories out there. I will be paying attention to how well Sam Bradford does recovering from his injuries to get the go-ahead as the starting Eagles quarterback. Let's hope none of the superstar players get hurt in the preseason!
I hope everybody has a good time getting ready for the start of the fantasy football season as well. Don't spend too much money on your fantasy picks.
