Roger D. Deith, veteran, International Harvester retiree

Roger D. Deith, 79, of Ocean View passed away after a brief illness Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024. He was born Feb. 5, 1945, in Decatur, Ind.

Roger graduated from Decatur High School in 1964 before being drafted into the Army in 1965. After serving in the military, he started working at International Harvester in Fort Wayne, Ind., retiring after 30 years of service.

Roger loved scuba diving (master scuba diver), and racing motorcycles and cars. He was a 32nd degree Mason with St. Andrew Lodge in Springfield, Ohio.  

Upon retiring to Delaware, he restored an older beach house with his wife, Penny.  They also loved to travel and to cruise.

Roger is survived by his wife of 40 years, Penny L. Deith; three sisters-in-law, Bonita McBride, Donna Nugent and Joanne McBride, all of Delaware; sister, Patricia Coyne; a daughter, Lorie Lamons; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Roger’s life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, t2t.org.
