State park friends group raises funds with wine, cheese and beer tasting

The Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park nonprofit group held its annual Wine, Beer and Cheese Tasting event April 5, at the Officer’s Club in the park. Guests were treated to a carefully curated selection of wines and craft beers provided by R&L Liquors. Artisanal cheeses and homemade hors d’oeuvres were included to delight the tastebuds. 

The event not only provided a memorable experience for the 200 attendees, but also raised funds in support of Friends conservation efforts and educational programs within the park. The fundraiser included basket raffles, and each attendee went home with their own commemorative wineglass.

Jeff Underwood, FOCHSP president, said, “All the funds from this event help us to pay for educational grants, and at the same time, to help staff and maintain the park.”
