Sussex Tech High School announces internal personnel updates
Sussex Technical High School recently announced several personnel transitions.
Dr. Matthew B. Donovan was selected as director of curriculum and instruction following the retirement of Dr. Patricia Oliphant. Donovan joined Sussex Tech as principal in 2021.
Dean Johnson, former assistant principal, transferred into the coordinator of work-based learning position. Johnson started his career at Sussex Tech in 2007 as a biology teacher and held the assistant principal position from 2018-23.
Replacing Johnson as an assistant principal will be Dr. Daniell Bullock. Bullock started at Sussex Tech in 2021 as an English teacher.
Ryan Winkleblech, Sussex Tech’s athletic director since 2021 will be teaching math for the 2023-24 school year.
Dr. John Demby joined Sussex Tech as assistant principal in 2005. He has served as the high school assistant principal and principal, and as supervisor of student services and human resources. For the upcoming school year, Demby will transfer to a newly created position, supervisor of community outreach for Sussex Tech Adult Education.
“We value each of these employees, and we are happy they have chosen to pursue their career goals while remaining employed at Sussex Tech,” said Dr. Kevin E. Carson, Sussex County Vocational Technical School District superintendent.
Sussex Tech is a public high school that prepares Sussex County students in grades 9-12 for their future success in workforce environments, higher education and the military.
