On Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles were basically a no-show for the game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The defense looked old and slow and the offense looked completely disorganized! The score was 29 to nothing before you knew it. In the second half, the team decided to start playing, but it was much too late. The final score was 29 to 14 but the game wasn't even that close.
I hope the team got completely chewed out by the coaching staff after that lousy effort. Even though they have no chance to make the playoffs, there are still a lot of reasons to play hard this coming week when they play the Washington Redskins. An Eagles’ win could completely knock the Redskins out of contention for a playoff spot.
Tiger Woods ended his long hiatus from golf this weekend by competing in his exhibition tournament the Hero World Challenge. It was great to see him out there and he seemed to actually enjoy himself. Even though he only beat two competitors in the 17 player field he showed me that at least he's making big progress. Expectations for him to come out and win after 15 months away was crazy given the injury history with his back. I'm just happy he made it through four rounds of golf without hurting himself.
The key for next year for him to be able to compete is to not practice as hard as he used to. The guy is an excellent golfer and he need's to not freak out and screw up what's left of his career. I personally look forward to him playing a whole lot next year.
In college football the four teams who were in the cat bird seat going into this weekend to make the college football playoff all won against their opponents. So Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson and Washington will face off to see who's the best. I am personally in favor of expanding the field to an 8 team playoff format. This is not likely to happen any time soon because of the current TV contract that's in place. Regardless, these should be some great games to watch in January.
