Hopefully the Eagles can continue to get better

September 2, 2016

On Saturday, the Eagles played great on both sides of the ball against the Indianapolis Colts. The defense continued their exceptional play especially the defensive line that was completely dominating Indianapolis' offensive line, sacking Andrew Luck and the other quarterback multiple times.

The most exciting part of the game was the huge improvement made by the Eagles first team offense. They consistently moved up and down the field against a depleted Indianapolis defense. Sam Bradford had a very good first half spreading the ball around to the entire offense. Let's hope they can maintain this momentum into the first regular season game against Cleveland on September 11.

The U.S. Open tennis tournament has officially started and the Americans are doing pretty well on the men's side. If John Isner can figure out how to improve his return game, he will be a big threat to go pretty far in the tournament since he is the tallest player in tennis history at 6'10". All the other US male players who have advanced seem to be wildcards.

On the women's side, Serena Williams is not as big a favorite as you would expect due to a shoulder problem. No one knows how much this will affect her as the tournament goes on. If Madison Keys from the US lives up to her potential, she could also make a deep run in the tournament. Let's hope tropical storm Hermine doesn't make too much of a mess of all the timing of completion for all the matches that are not under the roof!

The Phillies have had a tough week losing all three games to the Nationals at home. Since it is now September and teams can call up new players, maybe the fans can see the young players who will likely be on the team in the next few years. The Phillies minor league teams have been doing very well this season. Reading and Lehigh Valley might win their league championships. So hopefully that means positive things are coming for the fans to look forward to.

I remain ever hopeful.
