Keepin' it short

December 23, 2016

On Sunday the Philadelphia Eagles almost beat the Baltimore Ravens. They only lost by one point, because they missed a two point conversion trying to win the game in regulation.

I personally wanted them to kick the extra point to go into overtime, but I can definitely understand the reason why they wanted to win the game in exciting fashion, because they know they're not going to make the playoffs.

It will also be better for the young players who remain on the team to have tried to win this way so they will have the experience when it matters at the end of a game next year. By the time this article has been posted the Eagles will have played the New York Giants on Thursday night football.

I am not a huge fan of weekly Thursday night football. It's hard on the teams as there's no time for the teams to recover from the previous Sunday. It also cheapens the special nature of the yearly Thanksgiving day games. Sadly this will likely continue because the NFL makes crazy amounts of money by having these games.

The Phillies made some surprising news this week when they decided to pull the trigger on a trade for Boston pitcher Clay Buchholz. I am very happy with this trade because he is a very talented pitcher. He has a no-hitter in his career. He was very inconsistent with the Red Sox the last two years. We will see if a change of scenery will help him get back on track.

Happy holidays to everyone with this short article for Christmas.

See you all at Slam Dunk next week.
