Last weekend the NBA All-Star game took place in New Orleans. The Western Conference All-Stars beat the East, by the ridiculous score of 192 to 182. It was completely obvious that no one on the floor wanted to play any defense whatsoever. It did not resemble a real basketball game at all. With the exception of Major League Baseball, the All-Star games in the other major sports are not worth the time to watch.
I hope next season the NBA players take it more seriously. The NBA trade deadline was Thursday. I'm surprised that the 76ers decided to trade Nerlens Noel instead of Jahlil Okafor. I thought they liked Noel more than Okafor. I hope it works out.
This weekend the Philadelphia Flyers will play the Pittsburgh Penguins at Heinz Field in a outdoor hockey game on NBC. I hope it is still cold enough so there's no complications with the game. Unfortunately, I think this will be one of the last nationally televised games of the season for the Flyers, because I don't think they'll make the playoffs. They have really fallen apart since January.
It's already time for the PGA Tour to move from the West Coast to the East Coast. There are only six weeks until The Masters Golf Tournament. There have been no updates about Tiger Woods' condition after his latest back issues. I will be very surprised if he even plays the Masters, especially if he isn't in any tournaments before then. If I had to guess, Phil Mickelson may very likely take off from participating in some tournaments, having played so much on the West Coast. The young guns on tour are playing extremely well and he could use a break.
I will be talking more about the Phillies next week when the Grapefruit League games start. I predict that the Red Sox will be terrible this year, even worse than the Phillies.
