North Carolina gets redemption

April 6, 2017

Last year North Carolina lost the NCAA Basketball Championship to Villanova on a last second shot. This year they were able to complete the run to the championship with a close victory over Gonzaga in the title game. Congratulations also goes to Gonzaga on a great season, and on fulfilling their goal to get to their first Final Four.

Both Final Four games were very close. South Carolina lost to the Zags 77-73 and North Carolina only beat Oregon 77 to 76. Everyone on the East Coast wishes that they would start the final game an hour earlier so we can watch the whole thing! But sadly, we are not in charge of the CBS TV schedule.

I know the Masters is this week, but as a huge overall golf fan, I have to start by talking about what happened on the LPGA Tour last week.

In the ANA Inspiration Tournament, Lexi Thompson should have won the tournament, and she would have, if not for a so-called fan that decided to play Commissioner from their computer. Golf is the only sport where fans can still change the outcome of a tournament. This will have to be changed as fast as possible. Lexi made a very small mistake on Saturday and it cost her 4 penalty shots. The problem was that the penalty wasn't levied upon her until halfway through the final round on Sunday. This is not good for the sport.

Going back to the Masters, the weather for the first couple days is supposed to be windy and cold, increasing the number of players that have a chance to win. I hope it turns out to be a great tournament.
