The Phillies deserve no mention!

June 15, 2017

The Golden State Warriors did indeed win their second NBA Championship in three years. This was done in five entertaining games over the Cleveland Cavaliers. It was quite impressive how many points the two teams scored in their combined efforts and made it look so easy.

I do think the Warriors will be the favorite to win the NBA Championship in the foreseeable future with all the All-Star players they currently have on the team. I hope more teams step up next year to give them a better run for their money.

In tennis, Rafael Nadal did win his incredible 10th French Open Championship. He achieved this in just a 12 year span which makes it even more amazing. Nadal is only 31 years old, which means, if he stays healthy, he could even win a few more.

On the women's side of the French Open, Jelena Ostapenkos won the tournament. She is the first unseeded player to win the French Open since 1968. I hope she's not a one hit wonder and I don't think she is, because she has a really well rounded skill set for the game.

In soccer news, the U.S. is making progress toward, hopefully, making it to the next World Cup in 2018. This week they defeated Trinidad and Tobago at home and tied with Mexico on the road. Their offense needs to get a whole lot better. They were playing way too much defense against Mexico, and that won't be helpful in the World Cup.

The US Open for golf is getting a lot of my attention this weekend and I will definitely recap that for next week.
