Why does training camp have to be so long?!

August 3, 2017

All NFL training camps are in full swing right now. I don't know how sports analysts can pay so much attention to so many meaningless practices. I consider myself to be a huge sports fan, and even I am completely bored out of my mind when the media talks about preseason football for hours and hours.

All I care about is that the players don't get injured during practices. I will be a lot more interested when the third preseason game happens, when the starting players play most of the game.

I think the NFC East will be a very competitive division this year. Three of the four teams have a chance to win the division. The Eagles, the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys. The Washington Redskins seem like a complete mess.

Over the past week I've been very happy with the Phillies. They went on a five game winning streak before losing the last two games to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim by a combined score of 14 to 1.

Having such a poor record so far on the season, I was worried the Phillies' young players would have trouble staying focused for the rest of the season. I have seen a little spark since the All Star break. I hope that keeps happening for the remaining two months of the season. Rookie Nick Williams has been quite productive so far in left field.

Let's see if he can be that good for a whole season next year and maybe have more good news with the rookies to finish this mediocre season.
