Lewes sisters attend National Youth Leadership Forum for STEM
During June, Lea and Serena Jaoude of Lewes joined outstanding elementary school students from across the country to take part in the Pathways to STEM program at Villanova University in Pennsylvania, a week-long academic and career-oriented development experience.
Pathways to STEM is part of the Envision family of programs that enable students to explore their interests and experience learning beyond the classroom.
For their outstanding achievements both in and out of the classroom at Worcester Preparatory School, Lea, 11 years old, and Serena, 9 years old, were nominated to attend the forum by Dr. John McDonald, headmaster.
Lea and Serena are both straight-A, trilingual students who swim competitively year-round, dance ballet, play the piano and sing, and they are winners of multiple young authors contest awards. Lea is also the recipient of a Maryland Governor’s Citation for winning the Maryland District 1 “If I Were Mayor” contest in 2022.
The National Youth Leadership Forum programs seek to empower extraordinary students to become their best selves by discovering their passion, exploring a career and positively impacting their world.
