DCS students foster spiritual growth and team building at retreats
Delmarva Christian Schools, a beacon of education and faith for students ranging from 1 year old to grade eight in Milton, and high school students in Georgetown, recently organized two transformative retreats that left students inspired and spiritually enriched.
Middle school students spent their retreat at the Children's Beach House in Lewes. Th event served as a platform for students to engage in team-building activities, immerse themselves in Bible studies and strengthen bonds within their class. During this enriching experience, students also had the privilege of hearing from J.T. Spadin, associate/youth pastor at LiFT Church in Salisbury, Md.
The annual freshman retreat at Black Rock Retreat in Pennsylvania is a hallmark event at Delmarva Christian Schools. This year, the class embarked on a three-day journey that provided students with a unique opportunity to disconnect from technology and immerse themselves in meaningful interactions with their peers. Senior student leaders, teachers and volunteer staff traveled with the students, along with United Church Youth Pastor Lucas Stearns, who delivered multiple sermons for the students.
The primary goal of the retreats is to allow God to work in the hearts and minds of the students, both as individuals and as a class. Throughout the retreats, students cultivated new friendships, deepened their relationships with existing friends, and drew closer to Jesus through a variety of activities and experiences.
"We are thrilled to provide our students with these enriching retreat experiences that foster personal growth, spiritual development and strong bonds within our school community. These getaways remind us all that the goals are neither test scores nor premier colleges, as important as those things are. Instead, at Delmarva Christian Schools, we are committed to nurturing students who, while being a well-prepared academic, love Jesus and love others,” said Matt Kwiatkowski, DCS head of schools
The retreats exemplify Delmarva Christian Schools' dedication to providing a holistic education that nurtures the hearts and minds of its students, emphasizing character development, spiritual growth and meaningful relationships.
Delmarva Christian Schools offers a comprehensive Christian educational experience for grades 9-12 at the high school in Georgetown, and for young toddlers through eighth-graders in Milton.
