Just Us Cat and Kitten Rescue raises $22K at 1776 dinners

November 17, 2024

Following months of planning, Just Us Cat and Kitten Rescue recently held a fundraiser with two dinner seatings at 1776 Steakhouse. More than 200 supporters enjoyed fine dining, camaraderie and buying tickets for baskets, raffles and a 50/50. Magician Jack Noel served as master of ceremonies.

Tom Holmes, a 1776 owner, was pleased with the evening, as was Bob Harrison, president of Just Us. More than $22,000 was raised to help Just Us support its many programs for cats and kittens. This was the first time Just Us ran two events in one evening, and organizers are grateful for the support of the 1776 staff, Brandywine Valley SPCA, and many volunteers and committee members.

To date, Just Us has spayed/neutered 707 cats and kittens at no or low cost. The adoption of more than 400 cats and kittens has been facilitated, and more than 400 pets have received services at its low-cost vaccine clinics.
