Wrapping up on baseball, but football is just heating up
It was awesome to see the Philadelphia Eagles crush the New York Giants 27 to NOTHING on Sunday night. It was a complete performance from start to finish on both sides of the ball. LeSean McCoy finally had his breakout game, running for well over 100 yards. Nick Foles also had a good game except for two interceptions that the Giants thankfully did not capitalize on. The Eagles' defensive line had a number of sacks in the game, taking advantage of a very weak offensive line performance by the Giants' quarterback. Poor Eli Manning was offered absolutely no help for the entire game. Did Eli forget to include them on the guest list? The only real unfortunate thing to happen for the Eagles was Darren Sproles' knee injury that will probably keep him on the sidelines for the game against the Arizona Cardinals after the bye week.
In the quest for a spot in the World Series, the Kansas City Royals are continuing their magical run through the playoffs by sweeping the Baltimore Orioles in four games. I have been very impressed with how impartial Cal Ripkin Jr. has been calling the games for TBS considering he is one of the most famous O's players of all-time. As bummed as I am about the Orioles being eliminated, I will move on and root for the Royals to win the World Series. In the National League, the San Francisco Giants are in the lead in that series and they will probably advance to the World Series considering St. Louis has lost their most important player. Catcher Yadier Molina is done for this year due to a nasty wrist injury. This should be a very good last 10 days of baseball.
