Finals everywhere!
The NBA finals and Stanley Cup finals both started this week. The NBA finals should be a great series between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors. These were the two teams everyone seemed to predict were going to make it this far right at the beginning of the season. I wouldn't be surprised if the series goes seven games. The two superstars on their respective teams, Lebron James and Stephen Curry, are the 2 most exciting players to watch in pro basketball.
I am very surprised how good a player Stephen Curry has become as a professional. When he was in college at Davidson, I thought he was only going to be a very good three point shooter in the NBA. I was so wrong! I wish the games were going to start earlier than 9 PM. There is no way I will be able to see the end without having to have my eyelids pinned open.
This year's Stanley Cup final is between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Chicago Blackhawks. Overall for marketing and ratings reasons, it would be better for the NHL if Chicago wins their third Stanley Cup in the past six years. I say that because the casual hockey fan probably doesn't remember that Tampa Bay even has a team. Sorry Aunt Ginny! I think Chicago is going to win this series anyway.
Congratulations to both the boys' lacrosse and boys' baseball teams at Cape for making it to the state finals this year. Both will return with a lot of starters next year and will have a good chance to go all the way again. Losses are tough, but I sure hope both teams are very proud of their achievements for 2015!
American Pharaoh really needs to win the Belmont Stakes this weekend i n order for horseracing to be relevant again in the American consciousness . Back in the days when people rode horses for transportation and fought each other over whose horse was faster, horse racing (and boxing) were very popular. Sounds a little like NASCAR. I wonder when "just racing" will become an afterthought!
Phillies have two walk off wins in a row... shhhhhh...
