Fill in the blank. Eagles _______!

September 25, 2015

The Eagles offensive performance in their 20-10 loss against the Cowboys on Sunday was absolutely pitiful. The play calling by the coaches did not help at all. It was like they were in a high school game calling the same plays over and over again. Specifically, the offensive line was absolutely terrible not allowing running back DeMarco Murray to get on track at all.

To make matters worse, Murray is now doubtful for this Sunday's game due to a suspected hamstring injury. The most unfortunate part was the defense played a very good game holding the Cowboys to six points points until deep in the third quarter. The Eagles better wake up soon or the season will over before it even starts.

This week they're playing the 2-0 New York Jets. Simply because the NFL season is so short, this is certainly a must win game for the Eagles.

The Phillies have decided to retain Pete Mackanin as their full-time manager. This was a good move for the future because the Phillies owners realized that they could not get a big-name person to accept the job with the team in total rebuild mode. Mackanin seems to have a positive outlook on the future of the team. I hope he gets a fair shot to keep the job if the team does better at the end of next season.

I'm sure everyone knows by now that Tiger Woods had to have a second back surgery. If his doctors don't figure out what makes him hurt all the time, he's going to have to retire prematurely. That would be a very sad day in the world of golf. Hopefully this is many years off.

The Tour Championship is this week which will also determine the winner of the 10 million dollar annuity for the FED EX cup. With that kind of a payout, I hope this event will offer a dramatic finish. It will be very fitting if Jordan Spieth or Jason Day win that cup, because they have dominated this season. However, after round 1, neither of them are winning and Henrik Stenson was lights out today and shot a 7 under par 63.
