Healing Arts on Savannah announced Debra Rose, LAc, of Delaware Family Acupuncture has joined its team at 1500 Savannah Road, Lewes.

Rose has been practicing integrative medicine and serving Sussex County for 28 years. She is currently accepting new patients.

The Healing Arts on Savannah team includes Kathy Madden, LCSW, owner/director; Cathy Rose, LPCMH, behavioral services; Cindi Spencer, LMT, massage therapy; and Doug Leonard, DO, osteopathic cranial sacral treatment.

Delaware Family Acupuncture addresses health and wellness issues with the use of acupuncture, a form of traditional Chinese medicine, a 2,500-year-old medical system. According to Chinese medical theory, acupuncture points are located at specific areas along channels or meridians that connect to distinct parts of the body. Qi, or the life force, flows through these meridians. During acupuncture treatment, very thin, sterile needles are superficially inserted into the skin to promote the flow and balance of qi, and to relieve symptoms that may arise when the qi is blocked.

Acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, massage therapy, gua sha, nutritional counseling and lifestyle coaching are some of the tools used to engage the patient’s inherent capacity to return to balance and optimal health. This healthcare system promotes natural healing; it can enhance recuperation and immunity, and support physical and emotional health. It offers a safe, noninvasive way to treat a wide variety of conditions as well as improve function and well-being.

Studies have shown that acupuncture can stimulate pain relief; reduce stress, anxiety and depression; improve sleep; and increase blood flow. It reduces inflammation, which might explain the lessening of pain. Patients have benefited from natural care for conditions including musculoskeletal pain, headaches, gastrointestinal issues, allergies, insomnia, cancer support, immunity, hormonal balance and more.
