Art Strong DE, an art education business for children, recently announced its expansion to Sussex County.
Founded by local educator Hannah Lokken, Art Strong DE will be offering a vibrant and hands-on creative learning experience for children this summer with a new camp program at Lavender Fields at Warrington Manor near Milton.
After launching her art studio in Queens, N.Y., in 2021, Lokken has made the decision to return to her roots and grow her business in Delaware to be closer to family. The mission of Art Strong DE is to foster creativity and build confidence in children through various forms of art, including drawing, painting, sculpture and printmaking.
Art Strong DE will host a fun and engaging summer camp program running weekly from Monday, June 23, through Friday, Aug. 15. Each week will feature a different theme, allowing children to explore a variety of artistic techniques in a supportive and inspiring environment.
Children will be empowered to discover their artistic potential while building foundational art skills and have a blast doing it.
In the fall, Art Strong DE will also offer pop-up classes for all ages. Sensory-based art classes for toddlers will allow them to explore their fine motor skills, language development and self-expression while exploring a wide variety of materials. Art classes for older children emphasize self-expression, and learning to use new art techniques and materials.
“I am thrilled to bring Art Strong DE to Sussex County and provide children with a creative outlet that they can carry with them for years to come,” said Lokken. “My passion for teaching art and working with kids has been a constant throughout my life, and I can’t wait to share that with the community here in Delaware.”
