Building on the success of her storefront off Savannah Road outside Lewes, Bountiful Bowls owner Chelsea Mahon has opened a second location steps away from Lewes Beach.

Found in a Shoppes of Lewes’ storefront, near the Daily Market, Mahon opened the new location mid-summer, but is expecting to celebrate with a grand opening in the coming weeks.

The new spot is coming together, said Mahon. The goal will be to have a vibe similar to the original location, she said, referencing all the plants and decor.

“It’s taken a little longer to get everything up and running the way I want it, but I was paying for the space so I had to get in here, even if it’s on a limited basis,” said Mahon.

Suffering from chronic pain, migraines and other illnesses pretty much her whole life, Mahon said at various points, she’s been on lots of medication, but with little success. She’s always had a limited diet, and years ago, she said, she decided to take her well-being into her own hands, developing a lifestyle and eating habits that have proven successful for her.

“Nature provides everything we need to heal,” said Mahon. “I use this lifestyle as my defense. Natural immunity.”

Specializing in açaí and pitaya bowls, various salads, wholesome snacks and juices, Mahon first brought her vision to the Cape Region in 2018 with her roadside stand near Seagreen Bicycle off Kings Highway in Lewes. In 2021, she opened her first brick-and-mortar location off Savannah Road, near the intersection with Wescoats Road.

Mahon said she knew she was going to need a second location before the first location was even open. Almost immediately, the operation outgrew the space, she said.

The new location is about one-third larger than the original. Mahon said it doesn’t seem like much, but it provides enough space to have larger equipment, which then allows her to make larger batches of food.

At some point in the future, the plan is to have ovens installed to make gluten-free, all-natural breads and baked goods, said Mahon.

Beginning next week, Mahon said the second location will be open 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday through Sunday.

The address for the original location is 33809 Dreamweaver Lane, Lewes. The address for the new location is 412 E. Savannah Road.
