Bug & Bud Festival set in Milford April 26
The 22nd Annual Bud and Bug Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 26, in downtown Milford. The event is rain or shine, and volunteers are needed to help everything run smoothly.
The People and Pet Parade will start at 11 a.m. in front of Studio You at the end of Washington Street. The route proceeds on the sidewalk around Penny Square and then heads down the center of Walnut Street to the library amphitheater where prizes will be awarded.
Downtown Milford Inc. is asking those in the parade to dress as flowers, trees, ladybugs, butterflies or anything else related to the season of spring, and to adorn their bicycles with spring-themed decorations. Awards will be given to the best bug, flower and tree costumes, and best decorated bicycles for adult and child categories.
“We want to promote the fact that Milford is bicycle friendly, so we are asking children and adults to decorate their bicycles with spring-themed decorations. We also want to to see some fun costumes. There will be prizes for the best decorated bicycle as well as costume categories,” said Neyda Albarran, promotions chair for Downtown Milford Inc. Charles Gray will be grand marshal.
All-day entertainment at the amphitheater includes a kids’ zone with bounce houses and games, and live music performances.
“We have over 125 craft vendors as well as about 15 food trucks,” Albarran said. “One food court will be set up in the state parking lot and another will be in the parking lot across from Park Place.”
