Capture your legacy with Remember When Video Productions

Everyone has a story; this is their beginning
February 12, 2025

After working for decades as a lawyer in Philadelphia, Bill Shelley moved to Lewes and started a new business to help others share their life stories through videos.

Shelley came up with the idea for Remember When Video Productions after watching a segment on “CBS Sunday Morning” of a man traveling around the country interviewing World War II veterans. After reflecting, he felt it was a worthwhile project to pursue.

Having interviewed people for several years through his occupation, Shelley knew he could question people. He felt as though it would be very valuable to interviewees and their families, especially sharing stories that were never heard before.

“We are trying to record the lives of our clients for their families and future generations because we often don’t get the full story of people’s lives,” Shelley said.

Not only are the stories valuable, but they are also unique to the person. Shelley will sit down on a call with an interviewee to get to know them better, and formulate more personal questions prior to filming.

“People often aren’t able to keep on topic … The advantage to doing it this way shows the quality of the questions, the finished product and the quality of the video, lighting and sound,” Shelley said.

One of Shelley’s most notable interviews was with Nobel Prize winner and Princeton University professor Joe Taylor. During the interview, Taylor recalled the memories of his early childhood living on a farm. While editing, Shelley inserted pictures of the farm and family photos.

He said he is ecstatic to start a business doing something he enjoys for his community.

Videos run from 50 to 70 minutes with pricing from $3,500 to $5,000 per session. The pricing varies depending on whether there are multiple cameras, as well as editing time and production.
