Courtroom sketch artist to discuss memoir March 23

March 19, 2025

The Lewes Public Library and Seaside Jewish Community will welcome courtroom sketch artist Jane Rosenberg for an online discussion of her book “Drawn Testimony” at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 23, via Zoom.

Rosenberg’s specialized job as a courtroom sketch artist has given her a front-row seat to almost every major trial that has passed through the New York justice system. In pastel, she has captured for the public the demeanor of trial defendants like Donald Trump, John Gotti, Ghislaine Maxwell, Woody Allen and Martha Stewart. In her memoir, she tells how she does her job, capturing the psychology and drama as they occur in the courtroom.

“We see Jane’s art on TV news and in newspapers and magazines, but don't think how that art gets made. Her story brings us into the courtroom as she surveys the scene and picks the moment to start using her pastels,” said Enid Zafran, SJC book group leader.
