March 17, 2025

To celebrate the organization’s 70th Blue and Gold program March 2, a group of 25 Cub Scouts from Pack 95, along with parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts and uncles, gathered in Jones Hall of Wesley United Methodist in Georgetown.

Scouts presented the colors, followed by Pastor Tim Friedel giving the invocation. Committee Chair Louise Rathfon introduced guests, gave updates and made announcements of upcoming activities including summer camp.

Lots of adventure loops were presented to all the dens, from Lions through Bears. The Webelos and Arrow of Light scouts received their activity pins. Several scouts were recognized for earning their Bobcat loops. Pinewood Derby ribbons, patches, medals and den winner awards were presented. The overall pack winners were Reid Goins in first, Jack Simpson second and Colin Ezell third.

Scout Sunday patches were presented to scouts and leaders who attended the Feb. 16 service at Wesley Church. Rank advancements were bestowed to all the deserving scouts. Lions, Tigers, Wolves, Bears and Webelos received their rank cards, patches, parent pins and certificates.

The crowd enjoyed several songs from the Tiger den as well as a skit from the Arrow of Light den, and later a skit from the Wolf den.

In the Arrow of Light ceremony, older scouts received patches, parent pins and certificates of completion from the pack, as well as engraved plaques with arrows reflecting all they had learned in scouting.

Finally, in the crossover ceremony, the Arrow of Light scouts crossed over from Pack 95 into Troop 95. Scouts Benjamin Dorey, Alex Ezell, Lucas Houseman, Parker Mitchell and William Monaghan were welcomed by Senior Patrol Leader Giovanni Tiano and Scoutmaster Ben Ables, along with scouts Shane McCray, John Teoli, Shane Jones and Brode Huffman. The scouts received their new neckerchiefs and red loops for their shoulder epaulets.

Friedel gave the closing benediction, the flags were retired by the Webelos den, and everyone enjoyed cupcakes, ice cream and beverages.
