Elks bring Valentine's Day cheer to Stockley Center residents

March 16, 2025

For Valentine's Day, members of Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540 of Lewes brought gifts and delight to Stockley Center residents and staff.

The Stockley Center in Georgetown is a Medicaid-certified care facility for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The 50-bed facility provides both intermediate and skilled nursing care for people requiring a variety of complex supports and medical needs.

With musical entertainment provided by Joy Lynn Schreck, Elks past exalted ruler, and lots of dance moves by all attendees, the party was a great success. In addition, each resident received a balloon along with a bag of Valentine’s Day cards personally signed by Elk members.

Led by Barbara Gilsenan, Elks community outreach chair, members are encouraged to join the group that regularly visits with Stockley residents in Georgetown as well as at the Elks Lodge in Lewes.
