Wild dunks and crazy antics were the order of the day Nov. 17, as the internationally known and loved Harlem Wizards took to the court at Cape Henlopen High School for a fundraiser game against the Cape Crusaders.
The Harlem Wizards are a professional basketball team whose players deliver wildly successful fundraiser events for schools and nonprofits across the United States. This show benefits activities for Cape-area students.
To complement the Wizards’ dazzling demonstration of hoops artistry, interactive extras include contests, comedy, awesome slam dunks, audience participation and lots of gut-busting laughs.
The Cape Crusaders are a local team comprising Cape Henlopen School District teachers, administrators and support personnel, along with community leaders.
The Rehoboth Beach Sunrise Rotary Club, which sponsored the game, has donated more than $30,500 in the past two years to benefit area students, and support Cape Henlopen School District programs and needs.
“We’re very delighted the community continues to be entertained by the talented Harlem Wizards,” said event co-chair and Rotary Past President Pat Campbell-White. “On behalf of President Lisa Grossman and the Rehoboth Beach Sunrise Rotary Club, we appreciate the community's support for such great fun. We expect that hundreds of Cape-area children slept extra well Sunday night."
