IR superintendent to discuss referendum Feb. 25

The 38th District Republican Club rescheduled this month’s meeting for 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 25, at the Millville Community Center. 

Guest speaker Dr. Jay Owens, Indian River School District superintendent, will discuss the current expense referendum set for Thursday, March 20. The referendum seeks voters’ approval for funding necessary to manage increased operating costs, and enhance the recruitment and retention of staff within the district.

Owens will provide insight on the reasons behind the referendum and its implications, the expected impact on taxpayers and the influence of county reassessments.
