April 24, 2025

The Women’s Club of Milton recently established the Leah Betts Legacy of Service Award.

Betts was a beloved founding member of the women’s club and supporter of the Milton community overall. The award is a vehicle to honor those who have given much to the Milton community and will recognize exemplary service outside of the the Women’s Club of Milton.

The WCOM will donate $500 to a designated charity chosen by the award recipient, who will be selected based upon consistent demonstration of commitment, contribution and impact to the community.

The award will recognize work in support of causes such as education and child development; disaster and environmental relief; services for veterans, seniors and those experiencing food insecurity; or services for individuals who are homeless, disabled, homebound, infirm or in crisis. Volunteer hours and innovative approaches and endeavors will be considered.

WCOM’s goal is to recognize positive outcomes achieved by incorporating kindness, courage and wisdom. Candidates must be Milton residents at least 18 years of age, and sourced through civic organizations or community groups, or nominated by WCOM members.
