Marathoner to complete 50th race in Rehoboth Beach April 13
The YMCA of Delaware announced New Hampshire-based YMCA member and athlete Ranjeet Singh will be in Rehoboth Beach to complete his national endeavor of running 50 marathons in 50 states. He will cross the final finish at the Coastal Delaware Running Festival Sunday, April 13, in Rehoboth Beach
An avid runner and triathlete, Singh learned to swim and honed his athletic ability during his time at The Granite YMCA in New Hampshire. He began his travels across the country in the summer of 2023, with his first marathon stop in Anchorage, Alaska. So far, he has completed 49 marathons in 49 states, embarking on his remarkable journey in a fully wrapped, Y-branded RV, with stops at a local Y in each location. That RV will be parked at the Sussex Family Y in Rehoboth during his visit to Delaware, the final state in his incredible trek across the nation.
“We eagerly welcome Ranjeet into the heart of our Rehoboth Beach community and congratulate him on such an amazing accomplishment,” said LoriKay Paden, community vice president and executive director at the Sussex Family YMCA. “His journey beautifully captures the very spirit of the YMCA. As a member of the Y, Ranjeet illustrates how the connection extends far beyond the borders of our local communities, fostering a sense of belonging that resonates nationally and beyond.”
