MF Heat Co. voted Best Hot Sauce in Delaware

April 17, 2025

Milton hot sauce company MF Heat Co. is celebrating being voted the most popular hot sauce in Delaware. As the state’s only fermented hot sauce company, MF Heat is excited to be named the most loved sauce from the Small Wonder state.

Voting began in March on the Sauced website and app, a platform for hot sauce fans to check in and rate their favorite sauces from around the world. After nearly a month of voting, the most popular hot sauce in each state was announced April 13.

“We’ve come a long way in just a year’s time, and we’re pleasantly surprised to have fans champion our brand like this,” said Tim Auman, who co-owns the business, and handles the marketing and sales.

What began as a fun passion project among the three owners of MF Heat Co. in 2020 became a small Southern Delaware business. Over the past year, this growing hot sauce company has sold and sampled its products across Southern Delaware, taking part in markets and events. The owners have appeared on local podcasts like The 302 Podcast to talk about owning a small Delaware business and have had their hot sauce sold in small shops like the Farmacy Market in downtown Milford.

“It’s events like the farmers markets and the beer, wing and hot sauce pairings at Dogfish Head in Milton that have really let us connect to local heat seekers,” said Mike Frank, head chef and co-owner. “When people get to try our sauces, and they tell me how much they love the flavor and the heat, it makes it all worthwhile.”

“The thing that our fans gravitate toward is the fact that we are local and we are a part of the community,” said co-owner Emily Frank. For MF Heat Co., the idea of community is even greater than free deliveries for locals; it’s utilizing the local farmers markets and events as their selling home base.

MF Heat Co has more experiences in store for its second year of business, such as new flavors, local collaborations, and pepper-themed festivals in Maryland.
