Nonprofit supporting survivors of domestic violence receives $50,000 donation

March 19, 2025

What Is Your Voice Inc., a Sussex County-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence, recently received a $50,000 donation from the Burke & Herbert Bank Foundation.

The money will help to fund the construction of the organization’s engagement center, which will serve as a safe space for survivors to heal and regain their independence.

“This investment from Burke & Herbert is more than financial support; it’s a commitment to the safety, dignity and future of survivors in our community,” said Jacqueline Sterbach, president of What Is Your Voice. “With these funds, we can enhance our survivor-centered programs, provide emergency assistance and create long-term pathways to healing and stability.”
