Rehoboth Beach Jewish Film Festival slated April 23-27

April 16, 2025

The Rehoboth Beach Film Society will present the 10th annual Rehoboth Beach Jewish Film Festival from Wednesday to Sunday, April 23 to 27, at the Cinema Art Theater near Lewes.

This year’s festival program will offer a selection of 18 films, from documentaries and features to foreign titles and shorts, including serious stories and delightful comedies. Overall, the film festival focuses on deepening awareness of Jewish culture and experiences while exploring community differences and commonalities.

Besides American films, several foreign viewpoints are represented, with cinematic art works from countries including Israel, Germany, France and Finland. Guest speakers and discussions will be included after some of the films.

This year, the festival is sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Delaware, Seaside Jewish Community, and for the first time, Temple Bat Yam in Berlin, Md. The event is open to the public and RBFS members.

“The RBFS is proud to amplify all the voices in our coastal community through film. This year’s Jewish Film Festival promises to be something very special,” said Dave Bever, executive director.

"Judaism is more than a religion; it is also a vibrant culture. Cinema and the arts are a wonderful way to learn about Jewish history and society. I think it's great that Rehoboth has this annual Jewish Film Festival that can be of interest to people of all backgrounds, and I'm looking forward to this year's films,” said Rabbi Julie Hilton Danan of Seaside Jewish Community.
