Rehoboth Toy & Kite Company offers fun for all with the Easter Bunny

Rehoboth Toy & Kite Company hosted its 31st annual Easter Fun Day April 19, at the Boardwalk and Virginia Avenue in Rehoboth Beach. In addition to an Easter egg hunt containing 5,000 eggs, the event also included complimentary mimosas, bagels, coffee and a visit from the Easter Bunny.

Co-owner Bee Linzey said they got started around 31 years ago, kind of in collaboration with the Great Delaware Kite Festival held in Lewes. “People came on Saturday morning and we wanted to keep them around, so we had friends come down from the kite festival, and we invited them to fly kites in front of the shop. It was a deal where you come fly kites, we make you breakfast, bring you donuts, serve mimosas or coffee. It was a great time. It’s gone from there to what you see now.”

When asked what the best part of being an owner of a kite shop is, he replied “I’m just a big kid in a toy store.” Really, what more can anyone ask for?
