Rehoboth Beach Museum, Main Street team up to offer daylong excursion
March 20, 2025

Rehoboth Beach Museum and Rehoboth Beach Main Street invite the public to sign up for an exciting day trip Wednesday, April 30, to visit the beautiful Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library during the colorful peak of azalea season.

Located in Delaware's Brandywine Valley, Winterthur is the former home of Henry Francis du Pont. It features a museum of fine American decorative arts and a 60-acre naturalistic garden surrounded by acres of rolling hills, meadows and woodlands.

The day starts early with a 7:45 a.m. bus boarding at the Rehoboth Beach Museum. Guests will get to Winterthur in time for morning tours of the estate's stunning gardens filled with blooming flowers and spring colors, then enjoy lunch at the estate's café.

In the afternoon, visitors will receive a special behind-the-scenes tour with Winterthur's new textile curator, who will show off interesting items and share stories most visitors don't get to experience. The bus will depart Winterthur at 4 p.m., arriving at the Rehoboth museum around 6:30 p.m.

With only 38 seats on the bus, early reservations are recommended. Each ticket purchase includes bus transportation, entry to the Winterthur estate and all tours. Proceeds will help support both organizations.

Seats can be booked at tinyurl.com/4bkw294h or by calling the museum at 302-227-7310 for assistance.

The Rehoboth Beach Museum is located at 511 Rehoboth Ave. Spring hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday. Operated by the Rehoboth Beach Historical Society, the museum is a nonprofit organization that works to preserve and share the history and character of Rehoboth Beach.

Rehoboth Beach Main Street is a volunteer-driven nonprofit that works to create a lively, year-round downtown experience for businesses, residents and visitors.
